The DBA doesn’t create senior careers. It consolidates them. It suits those already operating at director or executive level, for whom the title of Dr moves them from experienced to authoritative — in boardrooms, in advisory work, in academia’s practice-facing roles.

- Is an MBA higher than an MSc? They sit at the same level (Level 7). The difference is scope: the MSc specialises, the MBA generalises across business disciplines.
- Is a DBA equal to a PhD? Both are doctorates at Level 8 — the highest UK qualification level. The PhD is oriented to academic research careers; the DBA applies doctoral research to professional practice while the candidate continues working.
- Can I progress from one to another? Yes — MSc and MBA graduates commonly progress to the DBA. Several of our routes are designed as ladders: diploma → master's or MBA → doctorate.
