Optional modules

This module introduces psychology in business, exploring motivation, attitudes, communication, change, wellbeing, and work-life balance. It applies psychological theories to improve management and workplace dynamics.
This module explores customer behaviour theories, analysing motives, culture, perception, attitudes, and loyalty. It applies models to decision-making, helping organisations understand and respond to consumer needs.

You will complete 100% coursework, split into two tasks. Feedback from the first task supports improvement in the second, ensuring progressive skill development.
This module develops insights into quality management in the global service sector, focusing on customer satisfaction, service culture, and techniques for improving quality standards across hospitality organisations.

Study Method

With flexible start dates in September, January or May, you can begin your course at a time that suits you best. Interactive online learning materials allow you to study wherever and whenever is convenient. Although modules follow a fixed trimester schedule, you can choose to study during the day, evenings or weekends, avoiding rigid lecture times and adapting learning to your lifestyle.

The academic year is structured into three 10-week trimesters. To complete one 20-credit module within a trimester, about 20 hours of study per week is recommended. If you choose the accelerated study plan, you will undertake two modules in one trimester, requiring approximately 40 hours of study weekly. This option demands careful planning to balance study with personal and professional commitments

If you decide to study at the accelerated rate, it is important to ensure you can fully engage with your studies to achieve strong results. Balancing 40 hours of study per week alongside other responsibilities can be challenging. Many students find it useful to begin with one module at the standard pace before moving to the accelerated plan. Each trimester also includes one or two virtual classrooms, which can be downloaded if you cannot attend live.

Assessment is based entirely on coursework, using varied methods such as essays, research reports, presentations, group work and practical reports. While independence is encouraged, the University provides strong support to help you succeed. You will have access to a dedicated Personal Tutor and an Online Learner Advisor, ensuring guidance is available whenever needed to help you achieve your academic and professional goals.
