Course Description

Gain a thorough, analytical foundation in business and management with the Entrepreneurship MBA, awarded by Anglia Ruskin University (ARU). Confront real-world challenges through practical, hands-on learning designed to develop your entrepreneurial skills.

This MBA not only prepares you to manage a business within an organisation but also gives you the knowledge to start and grow your own venture. Build the skills needed to create, structure, and lead a successful organisation.

The Entrepreneurship MBA at ARU delivers a broad, analytical study of business, emphasising entrepreneurial thinking. You’ll develop a strong understanding of organisational challenges and gain the ability to assess complex situations and potential outcomes in various professional environments.

Course Content

Entrepreneurs frequently encounter hurdles in creating value, from ineffective meetings to poorly aligned teams and ambitious projects that don’t always succeed. By applying value proposition design principles, you’ll learn to create, enhance, and manage value propositions that align with customer needs as they evolve. This approach will allow you to recognise valuable patterns, leverage team strengths, and discard unworkable ideas. Supported by practical resources, engaging multimedia content, and interactive activities, you’ll develop the skills to design, test, and deliver products that resonate with customers.

Today’s HR professionals and managers navigate a complex and changing landscape across public, private, and non-profit sectors. This module explores how business environments influence HR functions, examining the cultural, political, and social factors that affect organisations from internal and external perspectives. You’ll gain insight into the effects of economic forces, globalisation, and demographic shifts on HR strategies, while learning about the importance of ethical practices. The module highlights HR’s role in driving strategic direction for both social and financial success.

Entrepreneurship is supported by practices like play, empathy, experimentation, and crucially, reflection. This module places special emphasis on reflective practice as a tool for entrepreneurial growth, guiding you in applying theoretical ideas to real-life situations. Through reflective frameworks and assessments of your entrepreneurial skills, you’ll build competencies necessary for success. With practical exercises, you’ll explore themes like intentionality in fostering start-up culture and conclude by reflecting on your own progress, skills, and future goals.

In this module, you’ll examine management and strategic planning, focusing on how strategic analysis and decision-making drive performance. You’ll explore frameworks that support strategic design and implementation, from selecting competitive positions to creating an organisational environment for success. With a practical, problem-solving focus, the module equips you with tools to analyse competitive situations and resolve strategic challenges effectively.

Sound decision-making in management involves many factors, with finance being central. This module offers a conceptual framework for evaluating financial data in capital, operational, and financial markets. You’ll learn how to align financial information with decision-making needs, applying techniques from financial and management accounting. The module also explores the integration of financial data and qualitative factors in making informed decisions.

This major project provides the opportunity for an individual applied research or consultancy project focusing on entrepreneurship in action. You may choose to support a start-up’s current challenge, investigate a new business opportunity, or create an original business concept.

Study Method

The Entrepreneurship MBA is delivered through a block teaching programme in collaboration with Anglia Ruskin University. This unique structure requires students to attend three one-week intensive study blocks in the UK over the course of 12 months. During these blocks, you’ll engage in hands-on learning with fellow students and faculty, gaining valuable insights and practical skills. Outside these sessions, you’ll continue your studies remotely, with access to study materials and support.

On successful completion of the course, you’ll be invited to attend a graduation ceremony on campus in the UK, and if you’re unable to attend in person, we’ll arrange for your certificate to be delivered.
