The University of Law offers the LLB (Hons) Law Top-Up a practice‑focused programme designed to meet the diverse learning outcomes of each module. Assessments are varied, including coursework, portfolios, and oral presentations, with mock assessments available to help students prepare. While all assessments are delivered online, students on a student route visa may be required to attend live oral assessments on campus to comply with UKVI regulations.
The programme is structured to ensure students can balance their workload effectively. Each 20‑credit module requires around 200 hours of study across the term, with an expected weekly commitment of 40 hours. To stay on track, students are encouraged to plan for up to seven hours of preparation per unit, incorporating reading, assignments, and independent study. This approach provides a clear framework for managing time and meeting academic expectations.
A key feature of the University of Law’s model is the dedicated Academic Coach assigned to each student. Academic Coaches provide personalised guidance, encouraging independent learning while challenging students to achieve their best possible outcomes. This support ensures that learners are not only prepared for assessments but also equipped with the skills and confidence to succeed in their wider academic and professional goals.
- Qualifi Level 5 Extended Diploma in Law; Or Qualifi Level 4 and Level 5 Diploma in Law
- Applicants without a Level 5 Diploma but holding significant legal experience will be provided an alternative accelerated pathway on a case-by-case basis.
